Went to the Maryville Farmers' Market today. What a wonderful spread of fresh vegetables to be had.

I purchased a cantaloupe for $1, a watermelon for $3, 4 ears of corn for $1, and a bunch of flowers for $1. I arrived at the market around 10 AM. The flowers were normally $1 for 4 stems, but the seller was ready to leave. The cantaloupe was being marked down from $1.50 to $1.

Farmers were offering cantaloupe, watermelon, corn, peppers, squash, zucchini, eggplant, beans, and potatoes. There may have been more, I just can't remember.

The Maryville Farmers' Market runs until mid-November. It is open on Saturdays in downtown Maryville from 9 AM until Noon (or sellout). It is also open on Wednesdays at the New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 West Broadway Avenue (near Maryville High School at the intersection of Broadway and West Lamar Alexander Parkway), from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM (or sellout).
