Knoxville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Blount County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle of a man found dead in the Little River on March 14, 2013. TBI was requested by the District Attorney General to assist the Sheriff’s Office in the case.

The man has been positively identified as Lance Michael Larson, 29, of O'Fallon, Missouri. An autopsy was performed on Larson earlier today at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, but the cause of death is still under investigation. Larson’s body was found in the Little River approximately a half mile downstream from the Roddy Branch boat access area off Old Knoxville Highway in Rockford. Larson may have been on foot or driving.

TBI and the Sheriff’s Office are looking for Larson’s vehicle, a tan 2003 Kia Spectra, 4-door, with a Missouri registration CF1S9R. Law enforcement is also requesting the public’s help from anyone who has seen or spoken to Larson in the last few weeks. He is described as a white male, 6’2”, brown eyes, neck length brown hair and a light beard. In February, Larson traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia from his home in O’Fallon, Missouri. Last known contact with his family in Missouri was around February 20th, when he told his parents he was headed back to Missouri. It is not known why Larson was in the Rockford area.

Anyone with information about Lance Michael Larson is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463) or the Blount County Communications Center at (865)983-3620--24 hours a day.
