A dog park for Blount County, Maryville, is in the works. It is projected to open in the Spring of 2016.

The park will be downtown in the Bicentennial Greenbelt Park, below Los Amigos Mexican restaurant and extending northward. There is existing parking on McCammon Avenue, off of Cusick, across from the Blount County Health Dept.

There will be two separate parks, one for small dogs (half acre) and one for large dogs (acre and a half). "Other amenities would include a pavilion, benches and combined drinking fountains for dogs and their people."

Many thanks to
- PetSafe for the $100,000 grant to build the park.
- the City of Maryville for budgeting $10,000 annually to maintain the park.
- Blount County Parks & Rec for agreeing to maintain the park.
