Maryville-based Denso Manufacturing Tennessee Inc. is cutting the work-week for some of its 2,600 employees to 32 hours as the company reacts to slumping automobile industry demand.

Bob Booker, senior manager for community relations for Denso, said Thursday the reduction in hours is expected to be temporary — at least through February. After that decisions will be made monthly.

According to the article, employees can take the time off without pay or use vacation time.
